Non-Surgical Buttocks Lift 101

Mention J Lo and what’s the first thing that comes to mind? If you wanna get loud and let the music make you free, you’re pretty close. However, for many, it’s her nice, round bum that pops into mind as well. For some lucky folks, nice, lifted buttocks come naturally. However, many people feel that the shape and size of their bottom can be better. This is where a non-surgical buttocks lift can help.

Why Get A Buttocks Lift?

There are many factors that contribute to the decrease in tissue elasticity that results in saggy buttocks:

Aging. Over time, gluteal muscles weaken and this results in sagging and decreased firmness in the buttocks.

Pregnancy. During pregnancy, the pelvis is tipped forward and the hamstrings are underused. This results in drooping in the buttocks area.

Fluctuations in weight. Weight gain can ironically result in droopy buttocks while a significant weight loss will result in sagging because of loss of fat.

Sun damage. Damage from the sun results in brown spots, wrinkles, and sagging.

Genetic predisposition. This contributes to poor tissue elasticity, thus resulting in sagging.

People get a buttocks lift for many different reasons. It can improve how you look but can also give you a boost of confidence. Here are issues that a non-surgical buttocks lift can address:

  • Derriere that has lost its shape as a result of aging
  • Hollowed areas in the buttocks
  • Sagging or drooping butt
  • Presence of stretch marks or cellulite
  • Wish for more full looking and youthful buttocks

Different Types of Buttocks Enhancement Procedures

There are different ways to enhance your buttocks, some are more invasive than others. We will be focusing here on non-surgical options. In particular, we will discuss the Radiesse buttocks lift procedure, our favorite non-surgical buttocks lift methods – see option #3 below.

Non-Surgical Buttocks Lift

For people who would like to improve the look of their buttocks without undergoing surgery or liposuction, there are non-surgical alternatives. They provide the desired results without the long recovery and downtime.

Read on to find out how you can lift, contour, and change the shape and size of your butt without going under the knife.

Technique #1:
Emsculpt Butt Lift

The Emsculpt butt lift procedure is done using a device called an Emsculpt that uses high-intensity electromagnetic energy aimed at the targeted treatment area. This triggers thousands of contractions in the gluteal muscles during the treatment. This replicates the contractions that happen when you workout at the gym but on a magnified level.

This action strengthens and thickens the gluteal muscle fibers. This results in increased muscle mass that provides the desired lift and volume.

It’s important to say this procedure is not a quick fix as results only become visible after a few months. It can take about 6 months to see the final results. To maintain the desired look, you need to have maintenance treatments. For best results, this should be augmented with regular exercise.

Technique #2: Radiofrequency Butt Lift

More popularly known as the RF butt lift, this procedure works on tightening the skin to result in a more toned and tighter buttocks. It also stimulates collagen production. Along with the tightening effect, this gives your buttocks a more youthful and projected appearance.

While this technique lifts the butt, it does not, however, add volume. If a rounder, fuller derriere is the look you are going for, this might not be the method for you.

It typically takes about two treatments to yield the desired results for most clients. The results, however, do not last long. You need to get maintenance treatments every year to maintain results.

Technique #3:
Radiesse Brazilian Buttocks Lift – Our Favorite

Radiesse Brazilian Buttocks Lift Is our preferred butt lift method. Dermal fillers are the “it” procedures of the moment, even for the buttocks. For this method, Radiesse is used. This is an injectable dermal filler with Calcium hydroxylapatite as the active ingredient. It plumps up the buttocks by stimulating the production of collagen in the body.

The active ingredient triggers an inflammatory response in the body. The combination of collagen and scar tissue is the one that provides the lift and tightness in the buttocks.

Radiesse is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. Multiple injections are administered underneath the buttocks’ skin until the desired results are achieved. The water in the solution is eventually absorbed by the body. The particles of Radiesse are left and these provide the butt lift and contour.

The amazing thing about this injectable is it provides 20% to 50% augmentation in the shape and contour of the buttocks. And if added volume is what you’re looking for, this method also delivers.

Radiesse is not a quick fix method as it takes approximately 6 weeks after your treatment before you see the full results with a more contoured and plumper derriere. Results can last from 2 to 5 years and if desired, you may have maintenance treatments to keep the desired results within those years.

What are the benefits of a Radiesse buttocks lift?

If you’ve been wanting to improve how your buttocks look but are afraid of surgery, a Radiesse buttocks lift might work for you. Here are the benefits of getting this non-surgical buttocks lift:

  • It’s minimally invasive. This means the procedure is done in the office and no incisions are made to cause post-operative scarring.
  • There’s no liposuction involved, either.
  • There’s very little or no downtime. Patients can return to their regular activities after the procedure.
  • Results are more natural-looking. They appear gradually as the body produces collagen to add shape to the buttocks.
  • Results, though not permanent, can last up to three years or longer.
  • It can improve the texture of the skin and fix irregularities.
  • It can help reduce the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks.

What to expect?

Like with any dermal filler procedure, you will have a pre-treatment consultation with your specialist. This minimizes risks as medical history, any allergies, or medical conditions and current medications are carefully considered.

Before the dermal filler is administered, the target area will be sterilized. If you are especially sensitive to pain, your specialist may apply topical anesthesia to keep you comfortable. A blunt tip cannula is used to inject the product into the skin layer where collagen is produced.

Depending on your desired results, you may require a series of treatments spaced every 3 to 4 months. Each treatment lasts approximately 30 minutes.

After the treatment, there’s minimal recovery time. You may be able to go back to your normal activities within a couple of days. Soreness or aching in your gluteal area is an expected side effect but this should get better after a week.

Your specialist may also instruct you to sleep on your belly or on your side for 2 weeks to allow the results of the Radiesse buttocks lift to take full effect.

What are the risks or side effects?

Since this is still a procedure, there are still risks and side effects. Among them are:

  • Pain
  • Redness
  • Bruising
  • Swelling
  • Rash or itching
  • Bleeding at the injection site

Because of these possible outcomes, we cannot overemphasize the importance of going to a reputable provider who has certified aesthetic professionals to perform the procedure on you.
